The Balkan Retreat is part organic smallholding, part guest accommodation. We can host courses and events throughout the year, and have two ensuite apartments for holiday rental. When hosting courses and events we provide homegrown, organic meals for participants and in the summer months run a weekend kitchen for holiday guests.
Organise your event with us
We can host a wide variety of activities. From jam sessions to theatre retreats; from permaculture courses to yoga and meditation events; parties, weddings... it's up to you! (NB: Max 10 beds + tent spaces) There are two studio spaces: a classroom in a former school (next door) and our adaptable living room.
We have two ensuite apartments: Stable 1 (a double) and Stable 2 (4 singles). Both have own bathroom, kitchenette and beds upstairs in a galleried room. For courses and longer events, we also have two more rooms for rent: The Bakery (single or double), and the Corn Store Suite (double). These two spaces share outdoor toilets and shower.
Balkan Retreat Garden
Outside there is a roofed terrace with BBQ area, a chill zone with hammocks, a fruit orchard with spaces to relax in nature and a permaculture garden and greenhouse where we grow our food. We also have free-ranging chickens and Mangalitsa pigs.
Please have a look around our site, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
All the best and hope to welcome you here one day,
Vivien and Kalki
